# Connect a payment method

> Connect a payment method to enable live keys: 0.5% + $0.25 USD per authorized transaction (minimum 0.30 USD, maximum 25 USD), invoiced monthly.

This page covers Attesso's own Stripe Billing connection. It does not configure
or access any payment account the integrator may use to execute an approved action.

Attesso is a spending-control layer: it authorizes actions against a user-signed
mandate and produces signed evidence, and it never moves money. The billing
connection on this page is Attesso's own, separate from the payment provider you
use to execute authorized actions. Linking happens in Stripe-hosted Checkout:
card payments are accepted and you do not need your own Stripe account to pay
Attesso. To bind authorized actions to your own provider, see

The free test environment uses `https://api-staging.attesso.com` and `att_test_`
keys. The live environment uses `https://api.attesso.com` and `att_live_` keys.
Both are server-only credentials and are not interchangeable.

## Link Attesso Billing

1. Open `https://www.attesso.com/dashboard`.
2. Initialize the Test and Live workspaces.
3. Complete a test Mandate lifecycle first.
4. In the Live block, choose **Link Stripe Billing**.
5. Complete Stripe-hosted Checkout and return to the dashboard.
6. Wait until the dashboard reports an active billing entitlement before creating
   a live API key.

The success redirect does not activate live access. Attesso verifies a signed
Stripe webhook, retrieves current subscription state, and then persists the
entitlement server-side.

If you close Checkout without subscribing, the workspace stays unlinked; choose
**Link Stripe Billing** again when you are ready.

The V1 price is **0.5% + \$0.25 USD per authorized transaction**: 0.5% of the
Mandate's authorized amount plus \$0.25, with a minimum of \$0.30 and a maximum
of \$25, invoiced at
the end of the monthly subscription period. Applicable taxes are additional. Only
the first transition from `PENDING_APPROVAL` to `ACTIVE` or `SCHEDULED` is
billable. Failed, rejected, cancelled, expired, duplicate, retried, and test
activity is free. There is no Attesso base fee or monthly minimum, and no tiers
or discounts. A USD
invoice below Stripe's collection minimum may carry forward rather than Attesso
forcing collection.

Use **Manage billing** in the dashboard for payment methods, invoices, and
cancellation. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period,
allowing already-recorded approved usage to be invoiced. `active` and `past_due`
remain entitled; canceled, unpaid, incomplete, expired-incomplete, or paused
subscriptions suspend live keys without deleting them.

Attesso does not execute payments, issue cards, hold payment credentials, or
connect to the integrator's payment account. The integrator remains responsible for any
external executor, credentials, funds, compliance, and reconciliation. Public
support is available only at `info@attesso.com`.
